his exciting program is for you if you want to be a leader in shaping disability policy.

You don’t have to have any experience working on policy, but it helps if you do. Individuals interested in learning and working together on disability policy issues that promote inclusion, independence, and participation in community are encouraged to apply.  During the course you will work on a team, and team members may include (but are not limited to) individuals with disabilities, parents, family members, support persons, neighbors, co-workers, colleagues and friends.

Just a few of the reasons you want to be involved:

· Attend 10 full-day informative training sessions that will teach you change policy.

· Learn to use a computer and email to be a more effective advocate.

· Be part of an action learning team.

· Work together and get to know  people who have similar interests.

· Be more confident in sharing positions on specific issues.

· Participate in a policy project under the guidance of skilled mentors.

· Understand more about federal and state regulations.

· Learn strategies to get your letters noticed, published in the newspaper,

· And much more!!
